Our Story

With a successful career as a Cytotechnologist and having double majored in Biological and Clinical Laboratory Sciences and a certificate in Forensic Sciences, nobody would have pegged Kavita Haley, Founder of Blue Lotus Lane, as a gifted designer.

For those of you who do not know what a Cytotechnologist is, don’t worry, nobody else knows either. A Cytotechnologist is a laboratory scientist working under a pathologist who studies cells and cellular abnormalities.

Now that we have gotten that out of the way, in fact, since she was a young girl Kavita has shown promise as an artist, designer, and creator. Despite never taking lessons Kavita taught herself to paint; producing murals and sell able paintings in her teens. Her father, the quintessential guys guy, taught her and set her to work for DIY projects around the house from refurbishing dining room tables to faux finishing walls to reupholstering furniture. The outcome? Instilled inside Kavita was a little bit Joanna Gaines, a little bit Nicole Curtis.
